Next time, I'll try parm & basil and put a nice red sauce over it. Thanks so much, this has added a nice starch to my side dish recipes and staples. Was this review helpful? [ YES ]

Spicy Authentic Mexican Recipes

When you want the real deal, only authentic Mexican recipes will do. These are not the recipes you find on the ordering board in a fast food chain. Instead, you will find these in old fashioned Mexican restaurants and south of the border. The dishes are unique and full of flavors. From pork dishes to beef ones and even vegetarian delights, there is something that will certainly meet the dietary needs of anyone in your family and with how easy they are to create, you don't have to worry about slaving away for hours for a single meal.

One of the most popular authentic Mexican recipes you will find is the soup option. It is very popular to have soups and stews in Mexico, especially since these dishes can easily feed a large number of people without too much trouble at all. In fact, a large family will often create a series of dishes created from the different parts of the meats begin offered to utilize what they have, instead of focusing on a general style of item as well. This means that the entire animal will often be used during the course of meals. While some people might be bothered by this process, others will respect it and find that some of these delicacies are among the best they have ever had.

What you will also learn about these different authentic Mexican recipes is that they can be adjusted spice wise to fit your level of comfort. While some people will be able to handle really spicy foods, others will only enjoy a light heat coming from them. It is because of this you should spice down your foods if you have people who do not like spicy and offer a topping others can use to get the bite they need.

Keep in mind that even with the variety you have, some people might shy away from some of the dishes that are created. If you are going for a general theme, you might consider going with a Tex-Mex substitute to tide over those picky eaters that you have.

Traditional Beef Soup

What You Will Need

1 Large beef bone with marrow
3 Beef bones with pieces of chambarete
1/4 Cup Onion
1 Tablespoon Fresh Cilantro
3 Cut Potatoes
1 Cup Fresh Peas
Salt & Pepper

How to Make It

Begin by cooking the meat and bones in about 6 cups of water and mix in the garlic and cilantro. This should be done over medium high heat. As foam forms on the top, be sure you skim it off to ensure the flavor of the broth does not get too intense. When you have a good amount of foam off, bring the water to a boil, and allow the meat to soften. When this occurs, add in your potatoes and peas and then let them cook at medium high heat until they become soft. Remove any last minute foam and then salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.

Authentic Mexican recipes can enhance the experience you have with the food from the Mexican culture. Take the time to explore the different Mexican recipes and you will find there are a series of different foods that you will not find in most restaurants.

The Most Popular Restaurant Copycat Recipes

Restaurant copycat recipes are gaining popularity all the time. As more and more people opt to cook meals at home instead of spending their dollars on restaurant food, there is a lot more demand for great recipes. Free restaurant copycat recipes are especially sought after because they mean you can cook your absolute favorite dishes at home, for a fraction of the price you would pay for them in the restaurant.

Some of the most popular copycat recipes are chicken recipes, especially fried chicken recipes. Perhaps you love Kentucky Fried Chicken recipes and you want to know how to give your chicken the same enticing aroma, crispy texture and delicious flavor

Copycat Recipes Versus New Recipes

There is a time and a place for using clone recipes or copycat recipes. Maybe you want to impress or surprise your family with a copycat dish or perhaps you have a craving for one of your favorite restaurant dinners and you just have to have but preferably without paying the restaurant price tag.

At other times it is nice to make different recipes because it is enjoyable to experience new meals and flavors, rather than eating something that you are familiar with.

Easy Copycats

Beverage recipes like Starbucks copycats are also popular and people love to make their favorite takeout food and fast food dishes at home and then marvel at how similar the taste is.

A lot of copycat recipes are much easier to make than you might think. The busy chefs and cooks in your favorite restaurants do not want to spend hours making complicated dishes and neither should you.

Easy restaurant copycat recipes mean you can make the best quality food for your family much more cheaply than what you would normally have to pay for the same dishes and you have complete control over the ingredients and side dishes.

Recipe for Cavatini in the Style of Pizza Hut

The following easy copycat is for Pizza Hut Cavatini and this combination of pasta, steak, tomatoes, grape jelly and more tastes just like the original Cavatini recipe. This is just one example of how easy it is to make restaurant copycat recipes.

What you will need:

1/2 cup grape jelly
2 lbs ground round
4 cups pasta
28 oz sliced, stewed tomatoes
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
16 oz jar spaghetti sauce, meat flavor
6 oz V8 juice
1 1/2 packages onion soup mix
Provolone and mozzarella slices

How to make it:

Fry the ground round in the vegetable oil until it is totally brown, crumbling it using a fork. Turn the heat down to low then add the grape jelly, stewed tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, V8 juice and onion soup mix, stirring to mix everything together well.

Let the sauce cook for twenty minutes without boiling. Cook the pasta to al dente. Fill six au gratin dishes with alternating layers of sauce, pasta and cheese.

Restaurant copycat recipes mean you can make your favorite dishes in the comfort of your own home and without spending a fortune. The best copycat recipes mean that you and your family can enjoy your favorite dishes without having to go to restaurants every time you get a craving for your favorite fried chicken recipe.

I doctored it a bit too: I used the jar of Salsa verde, extra green chili's, fire roasted diced tomatoes, LOTS of cumin, and some chili powder as well. I heated the spices in the oil before adding both cubed and ground chicken. I used the ground chicken for texture - more traditional chili style, and added a touch a cream. MMmmmm. Thanks to other reviews, I was ready with the corn starch to thicken it up so it wasn't as soupy. I would like to say I loved it - but, by time I made my way back to the table to have some, it was GONE. I don't think it lasted 15 minutes!! I WILL cook this again, I would like to have more than just a sample spoon full... Was this review helpful? [ YES ]

Reviewed on May 16, 2007 by ARYQA   view full review I could not find canned tomatillos, so I used a jar of salsa verde instead, as suggested by other reviewers. Also, I did not have any chicken already cooked, so I used cubed raw chicken and allowed the chicken, broth, tomato, green chiles, & spices mixture to simmer until the chicken was tender. This made a nice hearty chili - not much broth. Since I prefer it thinner, I added another can of broth and doubled the spices at the end, but the taste was great before I made those alterations. Loved the chili. I will note that I was unsure of the addition of the salsa verde, so I waited until the recipe called for the addition of the corn/beans until I added it. Tasted before and after and I really think the salsa made this recipe. The flavor was excellent prior to the addition, but had no "kick." Might only rate 4 stars as written since I think the canned tomatillos are probably not as flavorful as the salsa verde, but since my grocery doesn't carry them... Thanks for the recipe!
