Types of Chinese Recipes

When you come to Chinese recipes, there are different types of recipes. We all have our favorite dishes but all restaurants may not be using the same recipes for it.

When you try to make it the thing will cause you a lot of problems therefore you might have to try many times to get it the way you want it to be. If you want to get the best recipes then you have to spend some extra money for a cookbook which is being hand down through family lines.

Chinese recipes standard types are rice, noodles, meats, seafood and vegetable. These recipes might be from different parts of the china for example your Lo Mein don't taste that good as it does in the Shanghai.

In china food matters a lot and every region of it has its own taste and recipes. Good restaurants incorporate with the different regions in china so that they can provide the real taste of the food for which it is famous.

As people in the Northern part of the china use wheat and noodles and people in southern region use rice and rice flour in their recipes. As china is a large country therefore it has different climate in north and in south which also affect the recipes.

Chinese recipes use different types of recipes which make them really tasty and more appealing. The most famous Chinese spicy dish is Kung Pao. Usually used with shrimp or chicken and it is made up of pepper sauce and we can adjust the level of heat as we want to.

All Chinese recipes have something in common are usually the rice, noodles and meat and vegetable in them excluding the region or spicy factor from it. There are some exceptions such as soups and pancakes which are really famous Chinese foods and are great recipes that one should try.

Trust me, the resourceful homemakers of today are using this tool like you wouldn't believe. Many southern dishes can be time consuming if you don't know the short-cuts to take.

2. Take Advantage of Video Recipes.

Video recipes are the new kid on the block. When it comes to seeing how the many soul food dishes come together, there's nothing like watching an expert do it. Video recipes continue to grow because of their effectiveness. It's much easier to watch a recipe being prepared than to read it. It's a simple case of show and tell. For example, you can get a clearer picture of how to clean and cook collard greens or make a southern peach cobbler by watching an expert prepare. Comparing a video recipe to merely reading the recipe and it's like night and day, especially if the recipe is complicated. Look for the video recipe site to grow by leaps and bounds in the coming year.

3. Cook on The Weekend or Off Days and Freeze.

This is a favorite solution to the busy housewife who has little or no time to spend in the kitchen on workdays. Taking part of your off day to cook for the week and freeze will give you the convenience of having a nutritious home cooked meal during the week.

4. Let Your Fingers Do The Soul Food Cooking.

This is another version of step 3 above. The only difference is instead of you spending an off day cooking nutritious meals and freezing them, you hire others to do it. Many restaurants are offering this service as well as supermarkets and other specialty caterers. Check your local phone directory or search engine for details.

5. Let Your Family Help.

One of the most under-utilized resources in helping you get soul food dinner ideas is your family. After you set down the basic rules (no pizza, chicken fingers or candy) your family can be a rich source of dinner ideas. You can even get them more involved by letting them help you in the kitchen. Make it fun and adventurous. Make your kitchen a place you bond with your children, they can not only help you create fond memories, they can be a source of help as well.

The reviewer gave this recipe 5 stars. This recipe averages a 4.5 star rating. Reviewed on Oct. 3, 2006 by Ape   view full review Awesomeeeeeeeeeeee dish. Looked like it was from a Gourmet Magazine. We did marinate the chicken in a buttermilk marinade, as a previous user suggested. The bacon turned out great, and we added tons of cheese. Mozzerella, Parm, Feta, etc. We just cooked the spinach as directed on the label, not with the microwave as the recipe suggests. We also actually ended up with a lot of the spinach/cheese-stuffing left over. Oh well. We probably measured something wrong. One suggestion: There was a ton of bacon grease that was sort of oozing out onto the baking dish when it was in the oven. Most of it got burned onto the baking dish. I'd suggest putting the chicken breasts on aluminum foil and then put that on a baking dish, just to minimize the scrubbing of the burnt bacon grease off the baking dish. Very good chicken though. We used a lot of toothpicks, but we probably didn't need to. Make sure you pound the breasts to 1/2 inch so it's easy to roll up too. Bottomline: Tasty, tasty dish. Try it. 5 stars. This recipe averages a 4.5 star rating. This was very good....I half cooked the bacon. In the grease, I sauteed the spinach, tomato, and garlic. I patted some of the grease out as suggested by another reviewer. I used about a half cup each of mozz. and parmesan cheese. I also seasoned the chicken breast with seasoned salt and seasoned the spinach mixture with garlic powder, onion powder, Tony's, salt, and pepper. We had some left over spinach stuff so I put it in a very small baking dish, baked it, and made a yummy dip out of it! :) That was delicious too!! Was this review helpful? [ YES ]

Two Tasty Enchilada Recipes

An enchilada is a corn tortilla wrapped around a filling and topped with chili sauce. There are various recipes that you can choose from if you want to make some authentic Mexican food recipes.

This recipe can feature meat, poultry, beans, cheese, or a combination of these. The most important parts are the corn tortilla and the chili sauce and enchiladas are amongst the most popular Mexican food recipes ordered at Mexican restaurants.

Sonora Style Enchiladas

These tasty snacks feature green onions and Longhorn cheese, as well as salad. This is a very simple recipe and it makes a great dinner for a busy weeknight evening.

What you will need:

1 chopped onion
2 cups red chili sauce
4 chopped green onions
1 1/2 cups shredded Longhorn cheese
12 corn tortillas
1/4 shredded lettuce
2 chopped tomatoes
Sour cream and salsa, to serve

How to make them:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Heat the chili sauce in a pan. Dip a tortilla in the sauce then lay it on a cookie sheet. Ladle a tablespoon of sauce over the tortillas and sprinkle cheese on top.

Add some chopped onion. Repeat this to make a stack of three. Bake for ten minutes, then garnish with tomato, lettuce, and green onions. Serve the enchiladas with salsa and sour cream.

Easy Microwave Enchilada Recipe

You can use the microwave to make enchiladas but they will still take a total of about twenty minutes to cook, so the oven might be just as good. If you are using the oven to cook something else though, this microwave enchilada recipe can be handy. The julienne-cut vegetables add nutrition and color to these tasty Mexican snacks and the taco seasoning adds spiciness.

What you will need:

2 tablespoons water
1 sliced onion
1 cup peeled, julienned carrots
1 chopped tomato
2 cups sliced mushrooms
2 cups julienned zucchini
1 chopped green bell pepper
10 corn or flour tortillas
1 envelope taco seasoning mix
1 1/4 cups grated Monterey Jack cheese

How to make them:

Put the water and onion in a microwave-safe dish and cover it. Cook on high for two minutes, and then add the carrots, tomato, mushrooms, zucchini, bell pepper, and taco seasoning. Microwave on high for fourteen minutes or until the vegetables are tender.

Wrap the tortillas with wax paper and cook them on high until they are warm. This will take about fifty seconds. Put a tablespoon of the vegetable mixture at one end of the tortilla and sprinkle a tablespoon of cheese over the top.

Roll the tortillas up and put them seam-side down in a twelve by eight inch dish. Pour the rest of the vegetable liquid over them, then cover the dish with wax paper and cook the tortillas for five minutes on high. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese over them and serve.

If you enjoy making different Mexican recipes what about making enchiladas? There are also hundreds of other traditional Mexican recipes that you can make quickly and easily at home with fresh produce, poultry, meat or fish and a clever combination of Mexican herbs and spices.

Using Food Blogs For Crockpot Recipe Inspiration

The internet is full of recipe search engines, recipe websites and food blogs, making it is easy to while away a pleasant afternoon browsing them. You can learn new recipes, discover new combinations of herbs and spices to use with your favorite meat and fish, or drool over colorful food photos.

Actually, food blogs can be a real inspiration if you are stuck in a rut when it comes to preparing dinner. If you tend to make the same dishes over and over, you might need a few new ideas, not just to give yourself a fresh challenge in the kitchen but so you can make something new and tasty for your family.

Why Crockpot Recipes are Popular Again

If you regularly read food blogs or use recipe search engines, you might have noticed that crockpot recipes are very much sought after. They were already popular in the middle of the last century of course but then seemed to become less so over the next few decades. These days slow cookers really are back in vogue. This is mainly because the modern lifestyle demands it.

With both parents out working all day, it can be difficult to make good quality meals. If mom and dad both get home at five or six in the evening, after a long day at work, the thought of having to make dinner from scratch can be a daunting one. This is one of the main reasons that crockpot cooking is taking off again in a big way. Throwing some ingredients into the crockpot in the morning and leaving the meal to cook to perfection by itself is very tempting.

Getting home to a hot meal which is all ready to eat is wonderful. That is why crockpots were all the rage when they were launched and why they are enjoying a renewed popularity now.

Modern slow cookers have come a long way since half a century ago. There is even a "smart pot" now, which is the new, improved crockpot. This is a programmable crockpot which has more temperature settings, better features and improved reliability. Slow cooking has always been a timesaver but with this new wave of crockpots and smartpots you can do even more.

Food Blogs with Crockpot Recipes

There are various types of food blogs. Some detail restaurants, recommending them and showing photos of restaurant meals. Others have recipes on with corresponding photos of the delicious food you can make if you follow the recipes.

There are hundreds of food blogs featuring slow cooker recipes. If you have an old crockpot you can use it to make some of the newest and most exciting crockpot recipes. If not, why not invest in a slow cooker or even a "smart pot", so you can make some easy slow cooker recipes to impress your family?

Remember that food blogs are written in the voice of the blog owner. That means you might not necessarily agree with everything he or she has to say. Rather than believe everything you read on food blogs, why not adapt the recipes? This means reading the recipes and adjusting them. Use the basic idea but tweak the ingredients and seasonings to come up with a new and delicious slow cooker recipe of your own.

You can use recipe search engines and blogs about food to browse recipes, discover new cooking techniques or just to give yourself some inspiration for new dinner ideas. If you are in a cooking rut, why not browse some food blogs and let them inspire you to try something new in the kitchen?

Want to Make the Same Food That You Can Get at Your Favorite Restaurant?

Why would you want to make for yourself the same food that you eat at your favorite restaurant?

If you had the recipe for the food you eat at your favorite restaurant, why would you want to cook it yourself at home?

I can think of several reasons.

1. Maybe someone in the family has allergies to nuts. Lots of food from restaurants has some kind of nuts in it. You could make the same meal at home and substitute for something that your family could all eat - or leave out the ingredient for the person who is allergic.

2. Maybe you want to make the same recipe to impress your boyfriend/girlfriend or spouse. For a special occasion, cooking the meal yourself and having it be like the food you eat at your favorite restaurant would be quite an accomplishment and very flattering to your friend or family. Most everyone likes to be admired for something they can do well.

3. Another reason to make the same food you can get at your favorite restaurant is if you are away from home and you crave that specific meal. Suppose you are visiting someone and you are doing the cooking. Wouldn't it be great to be able to cook them something that you like to eat at your favorite restaurant? If it were one of your kids who has gone to college and you were able to make their favorite meal when you visited it would be quite a treat for them. Or your parents who had been to visit you and ate at your favorite restaurant and liked a certain food and you could now make that same meal for them back at their house across the country.

4. If you travel to the coast or the mountains for a retreat and there are not the same favorite restaurants in the more remote area, it would be fun to be able to cook that special meal while you were in a special setting.

The WeightWatchers program helps you create a new set of habits around how you eat and exercise that virtually guarantee that you will lose weight you need to and, best of all, enjoy this change process! Here's how to find recipes:

1) Join the W.W. website. If you're already a member and attending meetings, here's your chance to get instant access to hundreds of watchers recipes online. There is a monthly fee for the services of this website, but I personally found it very helpful in my weight loss process.

2) Look at the blogs of other WeightWatchers participants. They frequently post great recipes of different sorts. And being in the same boat as you are, the recipes are design for making the weight loss as enjoyable as possible. Search on sites such as Blogger and WordPress, that's where you'll easily find most blogs.

3) Pay a visit to Dottie's Weight Loss Zone. This is hands down one of the best resources on the web for WeightWatchers information. There you will find recipes, shopping lists, the points for each meal at certain restaurants and fast food joints. Just do a Google search for Dottie's Weight Loss Zone, and hop right in.

4) Allow Google to serve you. New sites on weight loss, fat loss recipes are being added every day, and if you just look for "Watchers Recipes" in Google you're bound to find something you like. The reviewer gave this recipe 5 stars. This recipe averages a 4.5 star rating. I've canned this recipe twice, last fall and again early this summer when there was plenty of fresh tender young okra available. Many people don't know, but okra is excellent for the digestive system. 'this recipe is fantastic garnish to a hearty winter meal of greens, beans, jambalaya, or your favorite stew. I have only one suggestion, which came from my aunt, to add a level teaspoon of sugar (or less if you prefer) to each packed jar before adding the hot vinegar mixture. This doesn't change the pickled or spicy flavor to sweet but just mellows the exciting flavor. Interestingly, people who say they generally don't like okra, love these pickled treats.
