3 tips for Basil, bacon & corn pie

Pies are easy to bake and take to picnics or barbecues. And when you use bought pastry, they're even quicker to put together. To help you make the Basil, Bacon & Corn Pie recipe, follow these tips.

Tip 1:
Cover the filo sheets with a dry tea towel then a damp tea towel. This prevents the filo from drying out.

Tip 2:
When lining the pan with filo, don't allow the sides to overhang or the pie will be hard to remove after cooking.

Tip 3:
Turn each filo sheet slightly so the sheets overlap and create a firm case for the filling. Spoon the filling into the pastry case and bake.
